Pattern Question

I am a beginner knitter and have a question in regards to repeating a pattern in working on a baby blanket.

There are 153 cast on stitches - the pattern is knit 4, knit 4 (pearl 1, knit 7) until the last eight stitches then knit four, knit four.

My question is in repeating the (p1, k7) if you end on k7 there are 9 stitches to finish - do you just pearl 1 and finish the 8 last stitches?

YOUR ANSWER

153 stitches less 4 + 4 (beg. of row) and 4 + 4 (end of row) = 137

Pattern repeat is 8 sts.

8 * 17 = 136, so you have one extra stitch.

The pattern is wrong, I suspect that it should be as follows:

k4, k4 (p1, k7) until the last 9 sts, p1, k4, k4.

I can't be 100% sure as you haven't said whether this pattern row is the only pattern row or just one of many and I have no idea what the finished article is supposed to look like.

Hope this helps...
